Proud to be a B Corp, but what does it mean?
What is a B Corp?
In July 2020 after months of rigerous assessment, Leo's Box has become a proud B Corp. We are proud to be the youngest B Corp in the UK and one of the youngest in the world! For those new to B Corp, we thought that we could explan more about what exactly it is.
Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of social and environmental impact, and are evaluated based on several criteria, including governance, workers, community, environment and customers. B CORP is a global network, and in the UK there are around 200 of us.
As a business we are responsible for the impact that we have, and that we care about the planet and the people who live on it. To be certified as a B CORP means that we are held accountable by a recognised network and that we stay focused on our mission to make it easy and affordable to live in a sustainable way.
A few things we are proud of...
Since we started just over a year ago, we have donated almost £150 to Plastic Oceans and planted over 400 trees. We are hoping to use the B Corp movement to learn how to improve our impact and become more transparent. Please feel free to look over the B Corp website and see our score.
We are not a perfect business and know that we can improve. But our impact will and can be reduced through the framework provided by the wonderful community in B Corp. Our mission hasn't changed, we still want to make it easy and affordable to live in a sustainable way. But we are learning more and more the best ways to continue our charitable donations, support our British creators and help introduce to you some amazing products. We can't wait to partner with new brands and learn more as we try and reduce our impact in hope of becoming a net zero business.
